I am a Chicago-based independent documentary and editorial photographer. I graduated from Ohio University's Scripps School of Visual Communication with a degree in photojournalism and specialization in political science. I spent 3 years on staff at a family run newspaper in Ohio before moving to Chicago to pursue freelancing in the Windy City. I love coffee, adding to my ever growing collection of vintage cameras and snuggling with my dog, Harvey.
I’m a frequent contributor to the Chicago Tribune. My work has appeared in The New York Times, TIME, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, NPR, The Guardian, ProPublica, BuzzFeed News, VICE, and ESPN, among others. Commercial Clients include, Uber, Honda, Chase, Zillow, Random House Publishing, Atlas Obscura, Citi Foundation and DRW Trading.
I have also worked with several non-profits and NGOs. I’ve worked professionally throughout the United States and abroad in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. I am available for assignment anywhere. Drop me a line if you’d like to work together or grab a cup of coffee.
